Performance-Based Compensation

After a year at Nourish, top performing dietitians are eligible for performance-based compensation adjustments as a reward for their contributions to Nourish patients and the Nourish community. These adjustments, which are dependent on individual performance and overall payer rates, reward top performing dietitians at Nourish for providing an amazing patient experience (across patient retention, satisfaction, and outcomes).

  • Performance-based compensation is evaluated annually and can come in the form of session rate increases or cash bonuses.

  • Your performance on metrics included within the Metrics tab of your Provider Portal will be a key component for determining any performance-based compensation.

  • Performance-based compensation adjustments occur in June or December, depending on your start date. You must have been at Nourish for at least one year to be eligible.

Metrics we consider for your performance:

Nourish will take a holistic look at your session performance metrics (NPS Score, Patient Retention, % of Patients with documented Outcomes) as well as your patient's health outcomes and your overall efforts in the Nourish community.

Nourish understands there is no perfect system and there will always be exceptions and outliers that are not fully in your control. We will, unfortunately, never be able to capture every possible case or design a flawless set of metrics. Our aim is to assess performance to offer performance-based compensation that reward dietitians for great work.

Therefore, our solution is to consider a wide range of inputs that we feel are heavily correlated with providing great clinical care (1. do patients rate Nourish highly?, 2. do they come back and see their RD? 3. do they make progress on their health outcomes?).

While these are imperfect, when considered over the course of a year and compared across data from hundreds of providers and tens of thousands of patients, outliers tend to even out and you can get a general idea of how things are going with your patients. This allows Nourish to reward top performers when the performance of Nourish’s overall business allows it.

Likewise, there is no exact formula to measure performance perfectly. Our process allows us to look at everything holistically and take into account things like patients that weren’t able to come back to see their dietitian due to insurance coverage, NPS scores that were not quite fair, variations in retention / outcomes by specialty, etc. Our Clinical team understands such nuances well and will go out of their way to be fair!
