Whole-Person Care at Nourish: Medical & Therapy Support
At Nourish, nutrition therapy is the foundation of care—but lasting progress often needs whole-person support beyond nutrition alone. That’s why we offer integrated access to both medical providers and licensed therapists within the same care ecosystem.
These services are designed to complement your work as an RD, helping address the clinical and behavioral factors that impact patient outcomes. Whether a patient needs support interpreting labs, managing chronic conditions, or navigating stress and emotional patterns, you can connect them to trusted providers without fragmenting care.
Together, this model enables truly whole-person, nutrition-centered care—where medical insight and behavioral health support enhance, rather than replace, the dietitian–patient relationship.
Nourish Therapy
You can refer patients to a licensed therapist directly from the chart note, bringing behavioral health support into the care team alongside nutrition. Sessions are currently free for patients, with plans to transition to insurance billing in the coming weeks.
Why it matters
Behavioral health challenges are often the biggest barrier to sustainable change. Therapy provides patients with the support needed to navigate these challenges and stay engaged in their nutrition goals.

Nourish Medical
Nourish Medical provides integrated medical consults for patients who would benefit from additional clinical context alongside their nutrition care—such as lab interpretation, symptom evaluation, or medication review.
The program is led by Dr. Ajay Haryani, a board-certified Internal Medicine physician, alongside a team of MDs and NPs who are aligned with Nourish’s nutrition-first philosophy.
What to refer for
Lab review and diagnosis discussion
Symptom evaluation (e.g., fatigue, GI concerns, dizziness)
Chronic condition management (e.g., diabetes, hyperlipidemia)
Medication review or complexity
Guidance on specialty care or unclear diagnoses
For urgent medical concerns (e.g., chest pain, severe dizziness, BG > 400 mg/dL, suicidal ideation):
Instruct the patient to seek emergency care immediately
Document the conversation in the chart
Notify Ajay via email (ajay.haryani@usenourish.com)
For non-urgent clinical questions or clarification: use Ajay’s office hours or post in the relevant Slack channel, #best-practice-nourish-medical
